Winter 2011 Small Groups

We believe that Small Groups offer a place for each of us to learn and share. They are also a great way to connect with others in the church through study, conversation and service. We want our groups to be a safe place for people to explore and nurture their faith. Please take a look at our group offerings for early 2012.  For more information, please contact Michelle Andrews.

NEW GROUPS beginning January 2012

Momentum for Life
This group for guys (late 20s – early 40s) will follow along with January’s sermon series. Explore a model for daily living that will help you find the self management practices that create “Momentum for Life.“

Based on the acronym D-R-I-V-E:
   Devotion to God
   Readiness for lifelong learning,
   Investing in key relationships,
   Visioning for the future, and
   Eating and Exercise for life.

Faith in Entertainment
Do you love television, film, the arts or pop culture in general? Are you interested in looking at them from a faith based perspective? The things that entertain us speak into our lives….what are they saying? This new group will seek to examine a variety of works to find where God is at work in some unexpected places. This will be a great group for those who work in entertainment.

NOOMA video and discussion
“Wherever he went, whatever he did, Jesus started discussions about what matters most, because for Jesus, God is always inviting us to open our eyes and join in. NOOMA is a series of short films that explore our world from a perspective of Jesus. NOOMA is an invitation to search, question, and join the discussion.” Four sessions, with a different topic each week, will be offered on Wednesday evenings in January and February.

ONGOING GROUPS THAT ARE OPEN

College Bible Study is hosted and led by Leslie Bouknight. It’s open to college-aged youth looking for a safe place to study, share, and live out their faith. It meets on Tuesdays, 7:00 p.m. – 8:15 p.m., in Valencia.

Young Adults (20s & 30s) meets on Wednesdays, 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., for fellowship and study. Meets at homes in Valencia.

Men’s Group, hosted and led by Eric Schmidt. This group meets in North Valencia every Wednesday, 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. for fellowship and study.

Men’s Group, led by Bill Susdorf and Randy Sain. Meets at the church every Thursday morning, 6:30 a.m. – 7:30 a.m., for study, prayer and fellowship.

Prayer and Share meets on Thursday mornings, 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., and is open to women looking for a place to share, study and support each other through prayer.

Women’s Group for moms with kids in school (K – 12th grade), meets on Friday mornings, 9:00 a.m. – 10:15 a.m., for study, conversation and prayer.
